Jason Ribeiro is a public policy advisor, non-profit leader, community advocate, and one of Canada’s most awarded social science graduate students. Jason’s Ph.D. research at the University of Calgary is funded by the prestigious SSHRC Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarship and aims to assist organizational leaders in shaping, leading, and sustaining innovation efforts. By intimately researching cross-sector partnerships (organizations comprised of public, private, and non-profit resources) and measuring their sustainability and innovation potentials, Jason offers new perspectives on innovation ecosystems and fostering community partnerships to organizational decision making.

Jason is committed to improving the lives and well-being of Canadians across the country and has represented Canada at the World Bank/IMF Annual Meetings, United Nations Peacekeeping Defence Ministerial, and Young Leaders Program of Atlantik-Brücke. He was recently elected as Curator of the World Economic Forum Global Shapers Calgary Hub for the 2019-2020 year. His multidisciplinary background has enabled him to craft both economic and social policy at the municipal and provincial levels. A passionate leader, Jason currently sits on boards and standing committees within Sport Calgary, ActiveCITY Collective, EducationMatters, and the Calgary Public Library. He is also a regular volunteer with Next Gen Men and the Institute for Canadian Citizenship. Finally, Jason weighs in regularly on civic, national, and international affairs as a commentator on CBC.
